A
second place finish behind Brady Cudia during the 9th
round of the Victorian Formula 500 Stampede Series at
Heartland Raceway in Moama NSW has resulted in ‘Miss’
Jessica Moulden taking back control of the series lead.
Moulden
worked her way to an early lead in the feature race
but it was teenager Cudia that took over the front running
by the mid way point and from there Moulden had to be
content with a second place finish.
The
three times Victorian Stampede Series feature race winner
so far in the 2007/08 season was pleased with her second
place finish and as a result has now regained the lead
in the overall series point standings.
“For
the remainder of the rounds my focus is taking out the
Victorian Stampede Series and nothing else, so I was
happy to finish with second place as that has now given
me back the series lead,” expressed Moulden.

“There
are only two rounds remaining in the series and now
that I’m in the lead that is the position I want to
remain, and if I’m going to stay there I have to play
it smart and safe.”
In
what was the first appearance of the Formula 500s at
the Heartland Raceway venue, Moulden admitted that it
was tricky.
“During
the night the track was both sticky and rutty, which
made for interesting racing, especially in the feature
race,” she added.
The
10th and penultimate round of the Victorian Stampede
Series will be held this Saturday night (April 26) at
Western Speedway in Hamilton.
