LAST MINUTE PREPERATION                                                                                     25-11-09

By Jessica Moulden Racing PR

With the Jack Willsher Cup only days away you would expect to walk into a race car shed and see a Formula 500 sitting there ready to go for the big race ahead, unless you walked in to the shed where Jessica Moulden keeps her car that is. After coming across a hiccup or two along the production line Jess’ car is only due to arrive back in Cobden mid Friday morning. With the car still just a bare chassis and panels its going to be all hands on deck and a late night in the shed to build the car up ready for Saturdays 3.30pm sign in deadline at Sungold Stadium, Warrnambool.

“The car has been in Sydney getting painted and sign written by Jeff (Byron) at Design Effects Signage/ Raceshirts4u.com and was due to be back late last week, but we had a unusual drama on the day it was going to be coming home” says Jess. That unusual drama just happened to be that when the panels were clear coated and set in the oven overnight, it was realised that primer had been placed in the tin that was meant to be hardener and then was mixed with the clear paint being sprayed on the car.

“I must say a very big thanks to Jeff for all the work he has put in, the last thing he expected was to have to sand back all the panels, re-sticker them and then take them back to the paint shop to be cleared again and thanks in advance to my uncle David (Stevens) for the late night and work he will be putting in to get me out there on the track Saturday”.

Season 2009/10 might of started with a set back, but Jessica and the team are hoping that all the bad luck has been used up before a lap has been raced and that this season will see them back up the pointy end of the field in some of the major events, starting with the Jack Willsher Cup.

This season Jessica will once again be using the trusted SWIFT Chassis/ JETTCO R6 Yamaha combination, with a few improvements on last seasons. “ The chassis pretty much had a total rebuild on the front during the off season and has been configured to suit the new panel designs from SWIFT“.

“It would’ve been nice to have got out to Laang for a bit of a shake down before turning up to race but it wasn’t to be, the main aim for Saturday night will be just trying to finish races and making sure that everything is right and that I feel comfortable in the car”. Moulden said.

As for the rest of the season Jess jokes “lets just get through this weekend for a start”.

Jessica would like to welcome aboard her sponsors for this season and say a big thanks for all their support:
